When it comes to powering the internal speakers of portable audio devices, the MAX9716/MAX9717 audio power amplifiers stand out due to their bridge-tied load (BTL) architecture that minimizes the need for external components while delivering high-quality audio reproduction. Operating from a single +5V supply, these amplifiers can provide 1.4W continuous power into a 4Ω load with less than 1% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Even with an 8Ω load, they can deliver 1W continuous power. Additionally, these amplifiers can deliver 350mW continuous power into an 8Ω load when powered by a single +3.0V supply, making them versatile for various applications. You can also choose from adjustable gain amplifier versions (MAX9716/MAX9717A) or internally fixed gains of 6dB, 9dB, and 12dB (MAX9717B/MAX9717C/MAX9717D), which helps in reducing the component count and simplifying the design
