PM8800A

The PM8800A is a versatile power over Ethernet (PoE) interface and current mode PWM controller designed to simplify the power supply sections of all powered devices. It includes all the essential functions required by the IEEE 802.3af standard, such as detection, classification, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and in-rush current limitation. Moreover, the PM8800A is specifically tailored for PD with extended power requirements, as it embeds a hot-swap MOSFET capable of sustaining twice the current of the 802.3af standard with a programmable DC current limit. This makes it a reliable and efficient solution for devices that demand higher power output. Additionally, the integrated switching regulator is designed to work with power from either the Ethernet cable connection or an external power source, providing flexibility in power supply options. The DC-DC section of the PM8800A features a programmable oscillator frequency, soft-start, slope compensation, and embeds a voltage output error amplifier, allowing for use in both isolated and non-isolated configurations.
